LIVING WITH ROBOTS is an FT video series that will investigate what impact the rise of machines is having on humans who exist alongside the technology and what influence it might have on us in the future. The series will consist of five 10-minute-long videos to be published daily during FT Robot Week. In My colleague, the robot, Murad Ahmed explores how collaborative robots are being used in agriculture and manufacturing and asks whether these machines will assist workers on the factory floor, or one day replace them? With consumers demanding same-day delivery and speedier service, many companies are using robots to work alongside or replace workers. With a look inside high-tech retail spaces such as Amazon and Asos, workers or former employees discuss what it’s like working with, being assisted by, or even managed by robots. Are the robots coming for all our jobs, as many fear, or will we work with them as colleagues?
