Saving Netflix Videos as MP4 with Movavi Screen Recorder

By installing Netflix, you’ll be able to access a huge library of content including popular movies, TV shows, and other videos. However if you want to play any of this content on a device that doesn’t have Netflix installed or watch it offline, you’ll run into issues.

It was only recently that Netflix included a feature that lets users ‘save’ some of its videos to watch offline. While useful that feature does have numerous limitations, and will only work on some devices and for some titles. Rather than becoming frustrated trying to save videos and not being able to, you’re better off using Movavi Screen Recorder instead.

Essentially all you need to do to save a Netflix video using Movavi Screen Recorder is set it up to record the video directly from your screen. By doing so you will be able to save it as an MP4 video that you can then watch on your computer when you’re offline, or transfer to an entirely different device.

If you want to save a Netflix video, first you should open up the video in Netflix but pause it so that it doesn’t play until you’re ready to record. Next, launch Movavi Screen Recorder and use your mouse cursor to draw a frame that encompasses the Netflix video – indicating that only that part of your screen should be recorded.

After you’ve drawn that frame the capture interface will appear, and you can ensure the ‘System Audio’ icon is highlighted (and the ‘Microphone’ icon is not). Clicking on the icons will toggle them, and enable or disable recording from that audio source.

In the event that you’d rather not have to sit through the video and manually stop the recording, click on the ‘alarm clock’ icon then set the duration of the video. If you do that Movavi Screen Recorder will automatically stop recording, so you don’t need to be present once you get it underway.

When you’re ready you can click ‘REC’ to start recording, and if you set the timer you need not wait around after that. If you didn’t you could use the on-screen controls or Movavi Screen Recorder’s hotkeys and stop the recording when it is done. After that just go over the preview of the recording, and click ‘Save As’ and select MP4 if you want to save Netflix to MP4.

Keep in mind that there are other recording parameters you could adjust such as the frame rate and volume levels, or you could set up Movavi Screen Recorder to capture keyboard and mouse actions. In this case you don’t need to configure any of those options however, and as you can see the steps required to set it up to record Netflix videos is really very straightforward.
